Sustainability is increasingly at the core of everything Luxmy makes for the Australian design community.

We’d like to share a few of our recent efforts as an encouragement to make design decisions which are led by the positive impact they make on the planet and the people around you.

Meanwhile, here are a few efforts we're taking to create a more sustainable Australian business and interior design product:
1. The use of recycled material such as the exclusive Luxboard -- an infinitely recyclable particle board for desks, tables and joinery surfaces.
2. The design and manufacturing of products which showcase timeless appeal and quality long-lasting materials for the ultimate lifespan. We’ve re-reupholstered our Norman and Quaine lounges after more than 20 years of use and have recently developed the new TechEdge Lockers which allow for the continual redesign and refinishing of the locker face, while maintaining the locker body well into the future.
3. The use of Post-industrial waste in the manufacture of furniture -- Luxmy collects compact laminate offcuts from other manufacturers and use them to make hardware components for our table systems. Additionally, we use Plywood and particle board offcuts in our upholstery frames.
4. Minimising the carbon impact of our operations. Luxmy generates 100KW of solar power on our roof which feeds into the grid. We have also purchased our first electric van and intend to gradually change all our fleet into electric.
5. Sourcing Locally - Luxmy sources 95% our our production input materials in Australia.
6. Sourcing Responsibly - We source all our Melamine, veneer and plywood sheets from PEFC certified, responsible wood sources.
7. Environmental Certification - We have been a ISO 14001and PEFC/AFS certified manufacturing facility for over the past 10 years.
